She had a typical halfling youth, with plenty of festivities and little adventure. From her childhood, she had a great fondness of snacks. It didn't seem to fatten her, though, as she was always one of the fastest in halfling races. Around the age of 15, she became more adventurous than her peers, and travelled into the Elven woods outside Old Town. Here she found an Elven village called Chrysofia. She visited the village often, and the Elves liked her company. They found out she was a natural at archery, and let her practice as much as she wanted and join them in their village competition, which she won a number of times in her age category. They gave her her own bow and spear, which she took to her home in Old Town. This turned out to be an important blessing. When she was 20, something unprecedented happened. A boar attacked Old Town. The villagers were shocked as the town had never been attacked by anything significant before. She knew immediately when she heard the news that this was her chance to get recognition. She used her archery skills to wound the boar, and finished it off with her spear. She became a hero of Old Town, and the word quickly spread to the other halfling villages, and eventually to most of the civilized halflings in the world. It was not everyday that a halfling would kill a ferocious monster. Atalanta showed that it was possible, and inspired a generation of hutners and adventurers among halflings. The elves also took notice of her, and hired her to kill dangerous animals around the Queen's Wood. She saw more than ever before, but still felt limited by the woods. The animals she was tasked to handle weren't even as dangerous as the legendary boar. It should be noted that Elves and Halflings are still not sure how the boar got into Old Town, as both are convinced that the area is protected from monsters by a force field, which is the whole reason the villages are so safe. Elves have speculated the force field was somehow deactivated. But considering no-one even knows how this force field works, or even if it's real, no-one can test this hypothesis. Some humans have speculated that there was no force field at all, and that the hobbits were just lucky. They, however, don't care enough to test this hypothesis. Either way, for lust of more adventure, Atalanta broke her contract with the Elves and started a world journey. She traveled to Concord and then to Shadow Port, where she was approached by some odd fellows who said they had a job for a famous halfling archer. She was interested, and thus began her new adventure. Maybe this one could make her famous among all the races. Fate will decide.
